Inglés: Transport is a derived demand, meaning that the demand for transport services and infrastructure varies according to the demand for another good or service. Since people are involved in a socioeconomic, geographic, political, and environmental context, it is important to understand that the need for transportation is determined by their roles in society. At the same time, roles are defined according to the socioeconomic level, ethnicity, gender, age, migratory status, etc. The traditional transportation planning paradigm has focused on capacity, level of service, and cost effectiveness to design public transportation. However, not having a systemic approach to transport from a gender perspective, it has not been possible to meet the needs of populations, which due to their gender identity and/or expression tend to be vulnerable and violated. These people need transport institutions, operators and planners that guarantee their right to transport and freedom of transit, through affordable and accessible public transport. This research seeks to design a guide to incorporate the intersectional gender perspective in the process of designing and planning public transport. That allows the obtaining of necessary information that has not been collected or analyzed by the transport managing institutions and operators of public transport services, due to the hegemonic ways of perceiving gender roles.
