| dc.description.abstract | El sistema de transporte público siempre ha sido uno de los medios de transporte más utilizados por la población costarricense, sin embargo, a lo largo de los años se ha construido un sistema deficiente, ya que se tienen duplicidad de servicios, altos tiempos de viaje, mala calidad de autobuses, entre otros. Por lo que una mejora en este servicio beneficiaría a una parte importante de la población y mejoraría la vialidad en las ciudades. Una forma eficiente de mejorar la movilización de los usuarios del Sistema de transporte público es mediante la implementación de un sistema BRT, el cual consiste en un ordenamiento de las rutas de autobús, donde además de esto se tienen que añadir elementos como pago electrónico, autobuses de mayor capacidad, estaciones de intercambio, carriles exclusivos, entre otros. Esta forma de movilización permite aumentar el nivel de servicio del sistema, ya que reduce los tiempos de viaje y tiempo de espera de los usuarios; además de esto, aumenta la demanda del transporte público y ayuda a beneficiar al ambiente con sus efectos indirectos. Mediante un análisis de la población y del servicio ofrecido por las empresas que operan actualmente el corredor, se realizó una caracterización del sector de estudio, para posteriormente realizar una propuesta de un sistema BRT para el corredor Tibás – Santo Domingo, donde se proponen rutas troncales y secundarias, estaciones de intercambio, carriles exclusivos. Además, se da un análisis de la zona de cobertura que tendría este nuevo servicio y se proponen las frecuencias y flota sugeridas para cada una de las rutas secundarias y troncales. | es_CR |
| dc.description.abstract | Inglés: The public transport system has always been one of the most used means of transport by the Costa Rican population, however, over the years a deficient system has been built, since there are duplicity of services, high travel times, poor quality of buses, among others. Therefore, an improvement in this service would benefit a significant part of the population and improve roads in cities. An efficient way to improve the mobilization of users of the public transport system is through the implementation of a BRT system, which consists of an ordering of bus routes, where in addition to this, elements such as electronic payment, buses of greater capacity, interchange stations, exclusive lanes, among others. This form of mobilization allows to increase the level of service of the system, since it reduces the travel times and waiting time of the users; In addition to this, it allows a decrease in the operating expenses of bus companies, increases the demand for public transport and helps to benefit the environment with its indirect effects. Through an analysis of the population and the service offered by the companies that currently operate the corridor, a characterization of the study sector was carried out, to later make a proposal for a BRT system for the Tibás - Santo Domingo corridor, where trunk routes are proposed and secondary, interchange stations, exclusive lanes. In addition, an analysis of the coverage area that this new service would have is given and the suggested frequencies and fleet are proposed for each of the secondary and trunk routes. | |
