To evaluate the effect of one and two-step silane-based solutions, placed with different action times, with their adhesive effectiveness and chemical interaction with different CAD/CAM glass-ceramics. Methods. Plates of 6x3x2mm were cut from different CAD/CAM ceramics: feldspathic ceramic (Cerec Block, Cerec/Sirona), leucite-based ceramic (IPS Empress CAD, Ivoclar/Vivadent), lithium disilicate-reinforced ceramic (IPS e. max CAD, Ivoclar/Vivadent), lithium silicate phosphate-zirconia reinforced ceramic (Suprinity, VITA) and resin polymer infiltrated ceramic (Enamic, VITA). The samples were divided into groups to receive different surface treatments: A) One-step silane, with an action time of 1 min. B) One-step silane, with an action time of 5 min. C) Two-step silane, with an action time of 1 min. D) Two-step silane, with an action time of 5 min. All groups were etched with HF (applied according to the manufacturer's instructions). They were subjected to 4 tests: 1) Shear Test - Adhesion: (n=15) universal testing machine (Electropuls E3000, Instron), 2) Fracture pattern of ceramic surfaces by light optical microscopy at 40X magnification, 3) Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM, H-3700, Hitachi), 4) Confocal Raman Spectroscopy - Chemical Composition/optical surface imaging: (n=3) (Confocal Raman Microscope, Alpha 300, WITec) and 4) FTIR Infrared Spectroscopy- Chemical Composition: (n=3) (FTIR, GladiATR, Pike Technologies), and respective analysis of results. Results. By using Raman and FTIR spectroscopy, different peaks related to silane can be identified. Scanning electron microscopy images show structural changes that vary according to the type of silane applied. In terms of adhesion, the statistical analysis revealed that the factors "time" and "material" had significant influence on the adhesion results obtained. The variable "type of silane" had no statistical significance. In all samples, a fracture pattern with adhesive type failures was...
