The design of a fire protection system was developed based on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard for an ice cream producing company located in the Grecia canton of Alajuela, Costa Rica. This document includes, within all its sections, the study of national and international regulations to apply them to the proposed proposal, and what it seeks is to generate a proposed solution to a situation that is neglected for different reasons or circumstances. This project arose as a team challenge, in which the university training acquired in the course of study was put into practice, with the aim of applying the knowledge to the service of the company. The content of this includes the designs in two and three-dimensional formats of the different fire suppression systems and alarm and signal systems that must be installed in the company, in addition, self-authored documents were created where risks to the safety of the company were analyzed the occupants of the premises and the reuse of wastewater from the same company was validated as a secondary supply for use in fires. The selection of equipment, hydraulic calculations, technical reports, maintenance manuals and economic feasibility analysis of the project were also supported, making all of these support the proposed idea and be solid enough to support the knowledge acquired in the study career and with the purpose of carrying out said project, if it is desired by the company
