The PRISMA 2020 statement: An updated guideline for reporting systematic reviews”.
Inglés: To determine, by means of a systematic review of the literature, those dimensions of the instruments that approximate the quality of life related to oral health that show greater variations when comparing users of total removable dental prostheses with users of total implant-supported dental prostheses. Methods. This study was based on a systematic literature review that identified in the selected articles, the variations in scores of the dimensions of the instruments that approximate oral health-related quality of life, when comparing users of total removable dental prostheses versus users of implant- supported total dental prostheses. The literature search was performed using PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Scielo and EBSCO databases, which together cover most of the scientific literature in the field. Following the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review and Meta- Analyses (PRISMA) statement that is used according to the guideline of the approach indicated in "The PRISMA 2020 statement: An updated guideline for reporting systematic reviews". The scientific articles that have evaluated oral health-related quality of life were analyzed and selected and these two groups were compared, according to different inclusion and exclusion criteria, following the PICO criteria, using different instruments such as OHIP-49, OHIP-20, OHIP-14 and OHIP- EDENT. Results. Overall, the results of the studies showed that the study population was heterogeneous in terms of dental health and types of prostheses. Significant differences in oral health-related quality of life were found between implant-supported and conventional prostheses, with a significant improvement in most studies for implant-supported prostheses, especially in the mandible. This suggests that implant-supported prostheses had a positive impact on participants' quality of life compared to conventional prostheses. According to the OHIP instrument, dimensions that showed significant improvements in...
